Week in Review!

Once again, we had a very busy week at In-Sync Exotics!

We happily reported that Jynxie and Sabu are getting along so well together.  They are now eating, sleeping, and playing on the playground together without any problems.  All of us at In-Sync Exotics are praying that these two cats, after all they have been through over the years; finally have a chance at a long lasting and loving companionship with one another other!  We want to thank all our Facebook fans who left positive thoughts and prayers on the site for the happy "couple!"  We will continue to provide updates on the antics of Jynxie and Sabu as news comes available, so stay tuned!

For a month now, we have been reporting on our standings with the GreatNonProfits and Guidestar's second annual Animal Welfare Campaign.  We were #1, then we were #2, then we were #1...well, you get the idea.  We just want to say thank you very much to everyone who wrote an In-Sync Exotics review!  We believe we held onto the #1 spot, but are waiting for the final confirmation from GreatNonProfits.  As soon as we hear from them, we will report our final standings to you.

In the meantime, your comments will immensely help us recruit volunteers, interns, and donors.  Did you know that 84% of DONORS reported in this month's GreatNonProfits' survey that reviews are considered helpful when deciding whether or not to give to the nonprofit and that 95% of DONORS reported  reviews helped them better understand the nonprofit’s work?  So, thank you very much for posting such wonderful reviews about our mission and your desire to see us grow and expand financially!

Speaking of finances, we still need your financial assistance in getting through these tough economic times.  Last month we rolled out two new ways to donate (new Razoo Project and Leave a Lasting Legacy) and this month we will roll out a couple of more ways you can contribute to our mission.

As we stand today, our new Razoo In-Sync with our Big Cats’ Needs by Donating to Our Hungry Carnivore Campaign has enough funds to feed all our cats for 1 1/2 days!  Thank you very much to our Razoo fans and donors who contributed donations towards this most important project.  We still have a way to go before we meet our $3,000 goal, but with 28 days left to donate towards this project, we are confident our supporters will help us feed our hungry wild cats!

Monday night In-Sync Exotics staff, volunteers and residents were serenaded by Sabu's soulful sounds.  Jynxie appeared unimpressed by Sabu's vocal skills, but everyone else, including Sheila, was quite enthralled with his performance.    If you haven't seen the video yet, you can watch and judge his performance for yourself by clicking here.

Yesterday, we learned some secrets about cat communication.  If you haven't read the article, you might want to do so, as you will learn some amazing things about your own domestic cat and how to "read" some of our more talkative exotics wild animals at In-Sync Exotics!  You can read the article by clicking here.

Howard loves to play with boxes!
And now for a quick Howard update:  Howard seems to be doing just fine.  His fur is slowly growing back from where he was shaved by the A&M vets.  Sadly, he is retaining fluid again, but our vet placed him on a diuretic drug that will not inhibit his ability to absorb potassium but will hopefully remove some of the excess fluid.  Howard loves laying on the playground's grass and just walking around, visiting with everyone.  Howard lives with Chloe and we are hoping to permanently introduce Spike to the pair so all the former Poetry cats can live together.  For now, Spike has supervised visits with the pair and we are happy to report that the slow introduction is going well.  We will keep you posted on the cats' progress!

Well, that about sums up our news for the week!  We are all hoping that next week bring us cooler weather so you can come out and visit us!  For tour information, please click here.  Be sure to check out our wish list for low cost donation gifts that we can surely use right now!

We hope you enjoyed this week's blog articles.  Be sure to read next week's posts as we are expecting to share some very exciting news with you!  Until then, thank you very much for supporting In-Sync Exotics!
